Horse Description:

Her dam Pride of Adrossan won 3 races in Queensland all over 1100m including one by 6.5 lengths, one by 3 lengths and the other by 2 lengths and was retired after 7 starts when injuring a knee but obviously had plenty of ability. Pride of Ardrossan is by Desert Sun who was the sire of super mare, dual Group 1 Cox Plate winner and 3 time Australian horse of the year Sunline and Desert Sun was also sire of Black Caviar’s dam Helsinge. Pride of Ardrossan’s dam is Royal Sencherec who won over $200k in prizemoney including second in the group 1 QLD Oaks over 2400m, 4th in the group 3 Tesio stakes over 1600m on Cox Plate day and included wins at Flemington, Moonee Valley, Sandown and Eagle Farm.

At stud Pride of Ardrossan’s has had 3 foals to race and all have won. The first foal is Andrassy (by Sharkbite) who has won 6 races including wins at Caulfield, Moonee Valley and Sandown and 4th in the group 3 Cockram stakes and collected over $180k in prizemoney. The second foal is Jawesome (by Sharkbite) who has a win and two seconds to date. The third Alonzah already a winner at Moonee Valley.

The breeding is very similar to Andrassy with Andrassy by Sharkbite who is by Redoute’s Choice who is by Danehill and this filly is by Skilled who is by Commands who is by Danehill. One key difference between Skilled and Sharkbite is that Skilled was a much better racehorse highlighted by winning the Group 1 Champagne stakes and 2nd in the group 1 sires produce and group 1 Randwick Guineas.
